The Urantia Book; Paper 43, Section 9

P495:3, 43:9.1 After graduation from world number seventy, ascending mortals take up residence on Edentia. Ascenders now, for the first time, attend the "assemblies of Paradise" and hear the story of their far-flung career as it is depicted by the Faithful of Days, the first of the Supreme Trinity-origin Personalities they have met.

P495:4, 43:9.2 This entire sojourn on the constellation training worlds, culminating in Edentia citizenship, is a period of true and heavenly bliss for the morontia progressors. Throughout your sojourn on the system worlds you were evolving from a near-animal to a morontia creature; you were more material than spiritual. On the Salvington spheres you will be evolving from a morontia being to the status of a true spirit; you will be more spiritual than material. But on Edentia, ascenders are midway between their former and their future estates, midway in their passage from evolutionary animal to ascending spirit. During your whole stay on Edentia and its worlds you are "as the angels"; you are constantly progressing but all the while maintaining a general and a typical morontia status.

P495:5, 43:9.3 This constellation sojourn of an ascending mortal is the most uniform and stabilized epoch in the entire career of morontia progression. This experience constitutes the prespirit socialization training of the ascenders. It is analogous to the prefinaliter spiritual experience of Havona and to the preabsonite training on Paradise.

P495:6, 43:9.4 Ascending mortals on Edentia are chiefly occupied with the assignments on the seventy progressive univitatia worlds. They also serve in varied capacities on Edentia itself, mainly in conjunction with the constellation program concerned with group, racial, national, and planetary welfare. The Most Highs are not so much engaged in fostering individual advancement on the inhabited worlds; they rule in the kingdoms of men rather than in the hearts of individuals.

P495:7, 43:9.5 And on that day when you are prepared to leave Edentia for the Salvington career, you will pause and look back on one of the most beautiful and most refreshing of all your epochs of training this side of Paradise. But the glory of it all augments as you ascend inward and achieve increased capacity for enlarged appreciation of divine meanings and spiritual values.

The sea of glass, the receiving area of Edentia, is near the administrative center and is encircled by the headquarters amphitheater. Surrounding this area are the governing centers for the seventy divisions of constellation affairs. One half of Edentia is divided into seventy triangular sections, whose boundaries converge at the headquarters buildings of their respective sectors. The remainder of this sphere is one vast natural park, the gardens of God.

The Edentia sea of glass is one enormous circular crystal about one hundred miles in circumference and about thirty miles in depth. This magnificent crystal serves as the receiving field for all transport seraphim and other beings arriving from points outside the sphere; such a sea of glass greatly facilitates the landing of transport seraphim.

These unique assemblages occur on the sea of glass, the great gathering field of the system capital. They are purely social and spiritual occasions; nothing pertaining to the planetary administration or even to the ascendant plan is ever discussed. Ascending mortals come together at these times merely to enjoy themselves and to meet their fellow Jerusemites. Those groups which are not being entertained by the Sovereign at these weekly relaxations meet at their own headquarters.

Transports arrive on the crystal field, the so-called sea of glass. Around this area are the receiving stations for the various orders of beings who traverse space by seraphic transport. Near the polar crystal receiving station for student visitors you may ascend the pearly observatory and view the immense relief map of the entire headquarters planet.

The superuniverse and Paradise-Havona broadcasts are received on Jerusem in liaison with Salvington and by a technique involving the polar crystal, the sea of glass. In addition to provisions for the reception of these extra-Nebadon communications, there are three distinct groups of receiving stations. These separate but tricircular groups of stations are adjusted to the reception of broadcasts from the local worlds, from the constellation headquarters, and from the capital of the local universe. All these broadcasts are automatically displayed so as to be discernible by all types of beings present in the central broadcast amphitheater; of all preoccupations for an ascendant mortal on Jerusem, none is more engaging and engrossing than that of listening in on the never-ending stream of universe space reports.

At this broadcast-receiving amphitheater the Salvington messages are coming in continuously. Near by, the Edentia word of the Most High Constellation Fathers is received at least once a day. Periodically the regular and special broadcasts of Uversa are relayed through Salvington, and when Paradise messages are in reception, the entire population is assembled around the sea of glass, and the Uversa friends add the reflectivity phenomena to the technique of the Paradise broadcast so that everything heard becomes visible. And it is in this manner that continual foretastes of advancing beauty and grandeur are afforded the mortal survivors as they journey inward on the eternal adventure.

As you ascend the mansion worlds one by one, they become more crowded with the morontia activities of advancing survivors. As you go forward, you will recognize more and more of the Jerusem features added to the mansion worlds. The sea of glass makes its appearance on the second mansonia.

The personnel of the seventh mansonia assemble on the sea of glass to witness your departure for Jerusem with residential status. Hundreds or thousands of times you may have visited Jerusem, but always as a guest; never before have you proceeded toward the system capital in the company of a group of your fellows who were bidding an eternal farewell to the whole mansonia career as ascending mortals. You will soon be welcomed on the receiving field of the headquarters world as Jerusem citizens.

47:10.2 [Part II]

John the Revelator saw a vision of the arrival of a class of advancing mortals from the seventh mansion world to their first heaven, the glories of Jerusem. He recorded: "And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire; and those who had gained the victory over the beast that was originally in them and over the image that persisted through the mansion worlds and finally over the last mark and trace, standing on the sea of glass, having the harps of God, and singing the song of deliverance from mortal fear and death." (Perfected space communication is to be had on all these worlds; and your anywhere reception of such communications is made possible by carrying the "harp of God," a morontia contrivance compensating for the inability to directly adjust the immature morontia sensory mechanism to the reception of space communications.)

Once a week, every ten days on Jerusem, the Sovereign holds a conclave with some one group of the various orders of personalities domiciled on the headquarters world. Service in the Kingdom of Our Father God

Men and Women who desire to serve the World with Me...

Ye shall arrive at your own decisions regarding your priorities and purpose and purification. 

There is a certain range of the freedom of choice which all mortals may exercise. 

The forces of the spiritual world will not coerce humankind; they allow you to go the way of your own choosing.

The Father requires that the affections of his children be pure and undivided; for I have told you that you shall not serve two masters .. the ways of the Kingdom of the Heavens and the ways of worldly accomplishments shall not go hand in hand, if you desire to find God, become alike unto him, and achieve his Will of Perfection.

Whatever thing or person comes between you and the love of the truths of the kingdom, must be surrendered.

Verily, verily, I say to you, there is no man who has left wealth, home, wife, brethren, parents, or children for my sake and for the sake of the kingdom of heaven who shall not receive manifold more in this world, perhaps with some persecutions, and in the world to come eternal life. 

But many who are first shall be last, while the last shall often be first. 

The Father deals with his creatures in accordance with their needs and in obedience to his just laws of merciful and loving consideration for the welfare of a universe.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a householder who was a large employer of men and women, and who went out early in the morning to hire laborers to work in his vineyard. When he had agreed with the laborers to pay them a denarius a day, he sent them into the vineyard. 

Then he went out about nine o’clock, and seeing others standing in the market place idle, he said to them: ‘Go you also to work in my vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will pay you.’ 

And they went at once to work. 

Again he went out about twelve and about three and did likewise. And going to the market place about five in the afternoon, he found still others standing idle, and he inquired of them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all the day?’ And the men answered, ‘Because nobody has hired us.’ Then said the householder: ‘Go you also to work in my vineyard, and whatever is right I will pay you.’

“When evening came, this owner of the vineyard said to his steward: 

‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last hired and ending with the first.’ 

When those who were hired about five o’clock came, they received a denarius each, and so it was with each of the other laborers. When the men who were hired at the beginning of the day saw how the later comers were paid, they expected to receive more than the amount agreed upon. But like the others every man received only a denarius. 

And when each had received his pay, they complained to the householder, saying: 

‘These men who were hired last worked only one hour, and yet you have paid them the same as us who have borne the burden of the day in the scorching sun.’

“Then answered the householder: 

‘My friends, I do you no wrong. 

Did not each of you agree to work for a denarius a day? 

Take now that which is yours and go your way, for it is my desire to give to those who came last as much as I have given to you. 

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? or do you begrudge my generosity because I desire to be good and to show mercy?'”

Thou World Servers who desire inordinately to serve the kingdoms of Urantia .. 

You must attend this upcoming event .. and you are to arise into humility wherein thine fists are emptied of selfness .. wherein you are relaxing the pressures of egoism .. wherein your duty to God the Supremacy shall dominate your thinking and feeling .. your urges and motivations .. priorities and purposes shall be overwhelmingly held by loyalties to Me.

Then, are you worthy to be put to work as a World Server.

You are to become obedient to Me .. ever disciplined .. whilst  discernment shall become thine middle name .. if you so desire to becometh worthy of our association together in the Kingdom of the Universal Father.

Devotion to becometh trained beyond what you believe you already know is absolutely necessary .. an essential wholehearted willingness must pervade thine persona.

And everywhere you go, so shall you preach to open hearts and receptive minds, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand,' 'the way of deliverance is imminently accessible to those who make themselves worthy by their priorities of devotion', 'salvation is approachable by all who will enter and abide obediently in righteousness and reverence', 'freedom is upon you as you become open to grow as the soul receptacle giving all your personality endowments and soul  faculties of expression toward the achievement of the ages'.

I sayeth, thou World Servers .. ye shall  minister to all who may be sick in either mind or body; showing each one the way to deliver themselves to the One Reality of the Father God.

Freely you have received of the good things of the kingdom; freely give. 

If the people entering into our Holy Comforter Sovereign Countries, Cities, and Villages will receive of you ..so shall they find an abundant entrance into the Father’s kingdom; yet, if the people of any country, city, or village,  refuse to receive this gospel, still shall you proclaim your message as you depart from that unbelieving community, saying, even as you leave, to those who reject your teaching: 

‘Notwithstanding you reject the truth, it remains that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ 

He and She who hear you .. hear Me. 

And he and she who hear Me .. hear Him who sent Me. 

He and She who reject your gospel message reject me... 

And he and she who reject Me .. reject Him who sent Me into this one fold of Urantia.”

You are created as a uniqueness of personhood .. of creatively-empowered personality .. an empowering means of partnership and participation in actualizing God the Supreme .. in this closeness of proximity with the finiteness of Infinity.

Personality initiates an evolutionary process of developing thine soul vestment .. soul values .. soul virtues .. soul vision .. and soul verities and volitions.

Thine developing and emerging immortal soul is not a pre-existing entity waiting to be discovered by you.

It’s not something you can  consciously create by using your free will. Yet, it cometh as the indirect result of your choosings, your motivations, your urges, impulses, and receptions.

It develops as you becometh receptively awake to the higher urges and the everlasting meanings .. as you widen your desire from seeking the immediate gratification of the human senses towards the quickening of every faculty and every endowment in the long-term plan of evolutionary salvation.

Thine evolutionary soul expression emerges and evolves gradually .. and becomes apparent and available to you as you choose to progressively advance within the vast order of ascendancy.

This order of advancement stirs thine agencies into greater actualization and eternalizes thine human faculties.  It elevates you into a nobility of character .. and a worshipfully adoring communion with Life all around you.

Personalities who come together within their own indwelling God Impulse and God Intention .. who gather in relationships of growth and higher learning  .. developing their  eternity-driven associations .. their spirit-led engagements for advancement .. arising towards that cosmic cluster  of higher vestments and values and virtues .. they do certainly initiate a process of accumulating the right attitudes of mind .. they stir the natural mixture of thought and feeling into a more spiritualized character embodying qualities which allow their personality soul  to survive and to thrive in mortal living .. as their personality attributes within the culture of mortality are quickened towards the eternal values of Infinity in the Universal Parenthood of Life.

You have been taught to look for the coming of the kingdom of God, and now I come announcing that this long-looked-for kingdom is near at hand, even that it is already here and in our midst as God the Supremacy .. the omnipresent Christos of all beings.

See with the eye of faith .. hear with the understanding of the spirit. 

I declare that the kingdom of the heavens is the realization and acknowledgment of God’s rule within the hearts of all creatures. 

True, there is a King in this kingdom, and that King is my Father and your Father. We are indeed his loyal subjects, but far transcending that fact is the transforming truth that we are his daughters and sons. 

In my life this truth is manifest unto all. Our Father also sits upon an immaculate infinite  throne, but not one made with mortal hands. The throne of the Infinite is the eternal dwelling place of the Father in the heaven of heavens; he fills all things and proclaims his laws to universes upon universes. 

And the Father also rules within the hearts of his children on earth by the spirit which he has sent to live within the souls of mortal men and women.

When you are the subjects of this kingdom, you indeed are made to hear the law of the Universe Ruler; but when, because of the gospel of the kingdom which I have come to declare, you faith-discover yourselves as daughters and sons, you henceforth look not upon yourselves as law-subject creatures of an all-powerful king but as privileged sons and daughters of a loving and divine Father. 

Verily, verily, I say to you, when the Father’s will is your law, you are hardly in the kingdom. But when the Father’s will becomes truly your will, then are you standing with me in the field of the Father .. in very truth in the kingdom you are standing because the kingdom has thereby become an established experience in you. 

When God’s will is your law, you are noble slave subjects; yet  when you believe in this new gospel of your  divine sonship, my Father’s will becomes your will, and you are elevated to the high position of the free children of God, liberated daughters and sons of the kingdom of his heavenly abode.

Mine children of this planetary society...

Rejoice with Me, as there are many of you coming forth to drink of My Word .. to partake of My Wine of Eternity .. and to eat of the Substance of Light and Life; Ay, even those certain ones who are of My inner circles of association and universal apostleship .. who are ready to imbibe the all-transforming power of Infinite Love making of them readily adjusted for their Second Birth.

Whilst still many in their traditional religions are hypnotized by senseless rituals and fabricated mythologies .. they have yet to behold that I am here amongst thee, and they are still caught .. unbeknownst to themselves by the debilitating snares of mistrust and ill-gotten ideologies and the  endarkened images and definitions of disclarity.

I sayeth from Mine Universal Heart unto thee .. 

When the shepherd has found his lost sheep, he lays it over his shoulder and, going home rejoicing, calls to his friends and neighbors, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 

I declare that there is more joy in heaven over one who hath been lost and yet now repents ..  than over ninety and nine righteous persons who need no repentance and are well upon their way. 

It is not the will of My Father in heaven that anyone should go astray .. much less that they should perish. He sendeth his Sons unto the millions of worlds and galaxies to restore the evolutionary epochs of advancement and personality soul  attainment.

In the fallen religions of confusion and iniquity which pervade your world society .. keeping many from entering more thoroughly unto the Kingdom of God the Supremacy ..  God our Father may receive those who come forth and are repentant; yet, in the gospel of the kingdom our Father God whom I have come to tell thee of .. the Infinite Goodness of the Father  goes forth to find those misguided ones even before they have seriously thought of arising into their  repentance.

For there are the values of Eternity which each awakening personality shall discover in life: recognition of the Life, respect for his Authority of Life, reverence for the preciousness of the Life within every creature, revelation of the errors and misperceptions in the human personality, relationship with the Trinitarian Host and God the Sevenfold, and only then, soul receptivity emerges to allow those individuals to begin living a virtuous life. They are becoming prepared for Me .. for My vision of this Progressive Evolutionary Ascendancy.

Now are they maturing into cosmic adulthood .. developing capacities in order to stand upright in Self-direction and personal governorship .. in Self-respectful dignity and integrity. Abundant truth and an adjustable culture have favored rapidity of social progression.   A meaningless culture vitiates religion when it attempts to supplant philosophy and to enslave reason; a genuine culture grows naturally and normally as insight develops and realization emerges in the individual.

Regardless of the drawbacks and handicaps which humanity has encountered over the centuries, Salvington offers a revelation - a religious revelation of personal intimacy with a Personal and Infinity God - and while every new revelation of truth has given rise to a new culture, even the restatement of the religion of Michael is now supplanting the age-old notions of his teachings with a broader and deeper revelation of approach to the Universal Spirit who indwells all life.

Human beings have been erringly taught to venerate the unknown and to produce certainty even when no such certainty can be found outside of living within the very presence and power of the Nameless God. No culture can survive unless it embodies some masterful mystery and conceals some worthful unattainable ideal.

Our Salvington Ideal comes directly from the Second Center and Divine Source through the embodiment of Christ Michael.
